afisaWithin the framework of the International Day of Museums for 2017 and under the general title “Museums and Ambiguous Stories. The Museums Speak Out For What Cannot Be Spoken”, the collective painting exhibition “All About Health” is organized in the diachronic Museum of Larissa in May.

More than thirty participating artists have created works of art about the human body, health and cure, presenting them for the first time in September 2016 in the archaeological site of the Asclepieio in Epidavros and at the historical Xenia hotel, an initiative of the Union DIAZOMA and under the due care of Iris Kritikou.

The participating artists imprint, each one through their personal view, the journey of the human body from health to disease and from disease to the hope for cure. Also, through their work they state the concepts of the bodily and spiritual health as these are being shaped historically and socially through the centuries, summarizing the incessant struggle of man against mortality and nonexistence.

As the above works of art were exhibited in the areas of the Diachronic Museum in close contact with the School of Medicine, immediate associations are made with the worship of Asclepius and the work of Hippocrates which were widely spread in Thessaly.

The organizing agents are the Ephorate of Antiquities of Larissa, the Clinic of Pulmonology of the University of Thessaly, the company of Respiratory Disorders and Severe Disease, the Union “DIAZOMA” and the Municipality of Larissa.

The following artists participate in the exhibition:
